Then hear thou from the heavens, even from your dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive your people which have sinned against you.
Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.
But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and did not destroy them: yea, many times he turned his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.
Speak kindly to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she has received from the LORD’S hand double for all her sins.
In those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon those whom I spare.
That you may remember, and be astonished, and never open your mouth any more because of your shame, when I am pacified toward you for all that you have done, says the Lord GOD.
And there shall cling nothing of the cursed thing to your hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show you mercy, and have compassion upon you, and multiply you, as he has sworn to your fathers;
Rejoice, O you nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will return vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.
