Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven has given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he has instructed me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and did not destroy them: yea, many times he turned his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.
In those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon those whom I spare.
Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, and passes by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he does not retain his anger for ever, because he delights in mercy.
Pardon, I plead with you, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of your mercy, and as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.
