And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred twenty years.

Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed his covenant, and all the things that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them.

But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and hardened their necks, and did not listen to your commandments,

If your children have sinned against him, and he has cast them away for their transgression;

And the LORD said to Moses, Pharaoh shall not listen to you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.

Woe to the rebellious children, says the LORD, that take counsel, but not from me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:

Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient to his law.

And now I have this day declared it to you; but you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God, nor anything for which he has sent me to you.

But they did not listen, or turn their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

But they rebelled against me, and would not listen to me: they did not every man put away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to carry out my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

My God will throw them away, because they did not listen to him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.

But if you will not listen to me, and will not do all these commandments;

Who in times past allowed all nations to walk in their own ways.

Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have you offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices for forty years in the wilderness?

Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:

Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;
