Why should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the avenging of the blood of your servants which is shed.
And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them.
And I will appoint over them four things, says the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the birds of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.
They shall die terrible deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcasses shall be food for the birds of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for food for the birds of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berachiah, whom you slew between the temple and the altar.
And some of the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and a half, and shall not permit their dead bodies to be put in graves.
And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.
