Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking guile.

I said, I will be careful of my ways, that I do not sin with my tongue: I will restrain my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my grief was stirred.

Let my mouth be filled with your praise and with your honor all the day.

Do not trust in a friend, put not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your bosom.

If anyone among you seems to be religious, and does not control his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is without benefit.
