Out of the depths have I cried out unto you, O LORD.
I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence comes my help.
I was glad when they said to me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;
Those who trust in the LORD shall be like mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but remains for ever.
When the LORD turned back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream.
Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain that build it: unless the LORD keeps the city, the watchman wakes but in vain.
Blessed is every one that fears the LORD; that walks in his ways.
Many times have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:
He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.
He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
Deep calls to deep at the noise of your pouring waters: all your waves and your billows have gone over me.
You, who have shown me great and evil troubles, shall revive me again, and shall bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
