Only may the LORD give you wisdom and understanding, and give you instruction concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the LORD your God.

And to man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all those who do his commandments: his praise endures for ever.

With my whole heart have I sought you: O let me not wander from your commandments.

I understand more than the ancients, because I keep your precepts.

Through your precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

I am your servant; give me understanding, that I may know your testimonies.

The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

The righteousness of your testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live.

TAU. Let my cry come near before you, O LORD: give me understanding according to your word.

Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

I appealed for your favor with my whole heart: be merciful to me according to your word.

Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed your commandments.

The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep your precepts with my whole heart.

JOD. Your hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn your commandments.

I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my grief was stirred.

Whoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will compare him to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock:

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is from God, or whether I speak from myself.

Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues in it, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously, and does not criticize; and it shall be given him.

Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He that speaks evil of his brother, and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law, and judges the law: but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge.
