And Asa cried out unto the Lord his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with you to help, whether with many, or with those who have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we depend on you, and in your name we are going against this multitude. O LORD, you are our God; let not man prevail against you.

Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge army, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because you relied on the LORD, he delivered them into your hand.

So that he does not tear my soul like a lion, breaking it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

And those who know your name will put their trust in you: for you, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.

Deliver yourself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.

How can you say, We are mighty and strong men for war?

The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying to him, Get out, and depart from here: for Herod will kill you.

And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any part of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.
