When he gives quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hides his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:

And why do you not pardon my transgression, and take away my iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and you shall seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.

You hide your face, they are troubled: you take away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

​How long will you forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long will you hide your face from me?

Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit fails: do not hide your face from me, lest I be like those who go down into the pit.

​Hear the right, O LORD, attend to my cry, give ear to my prayer, that does not go out of deceitful lips.

But be not far from me, O LORD: O my strength, make haste to help me.

Hide not your face far from me; put not your servant away in anger: you have been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

Bow down your ear to me; deliver me speedily: be my strong rock, for a house of defense to save me.

Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.

And do not hide your face from your servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.

Deliver me in your righteousness, and cause me to escape: turn your ear to me, and save me.

And it came to pass in the course of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the forced labor, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the forced labor.

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon you.

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

And I will wait for the LORD, that hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

There has no temptation overtaken you but such as is common to mankind: but God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted more than you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.
