Do not reprove a scorner, lest he hate you: rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.

And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. And when he had come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.

And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.

And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

Let the righteous strike me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain to wise counsels:

The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a babbling fool shall fall.

A wise son hears his father’s instruction: but a scorner does not listen to rebuke.

Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuses instruction: but he that regards reproof shall be honored.

A scorner does not love one who reproves him: neither will he go to the wise.

Strike a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that has understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Do not speak in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of your words.

He that rebukes a man afterwards shall find more favor than he that flatters with the tongue.

He, that being often reproved hardens his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

But they held their peace, and did not answer him a word: for the king’s commandment was, Do not answer him.

You shall not hate your brother in your heart: you shall in any case rebuke your neighbor, and not permit sin to remain upon him.

Let them alone: they are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, neither throw your pearls before swine, so that they do not trample them under their feet, and turn again and tear you.
