Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
She cries in the chief public meeting place, in the entrances of the gates: in the city she speaks forth her words, saying,
A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain to wise counsels:
My son, hear the instruction of your father, and do not forsake the law of your mother:
He that refuses instruction despises his own soul: but he that hears reproof gets understanding.
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter end.
Hear, you children, the instruction of a father, and give heed to know understanding.
My son, attend to my wisdom, and turn your ear to my understanding:
See that you do not refuse him that speaks. For if they did not escape who refused him that spoke on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaks from heaven:
