Moreover Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; besides his sin with which he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.

And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.

The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

He who secretly slanders his neighbor, him will I cut off: him that has a high look and a proud heart will I not allow.

​LORD, my heart is not puffed up, nor my eyes lofty: neither do I occupy myself with great matters, or in things too high for me.

For you will save the afflicted people; but will bring down high looks.

Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak wicked things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

You shall destroy those who speak lies: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

But as for me, I will come into your house in the multitude of your mercy: and in your fear will I worship toward your holy temple.

If they say, Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood, let us wait secretly for the innocent without cause:

For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD: but those who deal truly are his delight.

A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will speak lies.

Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

Excellent speech is not suitable for a fool: much less lying lips for a prince.

A high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

A lying tongue hates those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth works ruin.

A man that does violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man restrain him.

There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.

These six things does the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination to him:

And when you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you: yea, when you make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

Moreover the LORD says, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched out necks and wanton eyes, walking and swaying as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

The appearance of their face witnesses against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe to their soul! for they have rewarded evil to themselves.

But know for certain that if you put me to death, you shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.

You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and did not remain in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

That innocent blood be not shed in your land, which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance, and so blood be upon you.

Cursed be he that takes a reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Likewise, you younger, submit yourselves to the elder. Yes, all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble.

For outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whoever loves and makes a lie.
