For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire, and blesses the covetous, whom the LORD abhors.

His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

I will set no wicked thing before my eyes: I hate the work of those who turn aside; it shall not cling to me.

The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he has ceased to be wise, and to do good.

Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, hears?

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaks waywardness.

The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own iniquity.

An ungodly man digs up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.

He shuts his eyes to devise wayward things: moving his lips he brings evil to pass.

A wicked doer gives heed to false lips; and a liar gives ear to a corrupt tongue.

To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks obstinate things;

For the disobedient is an abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

Put away from you a stubborn mouth, and perverse lips put far from you.

Perverseness is in his heart, he devises trouble continually; he sows discord.

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the wayward mouth, do I hate.

One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very evil figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.

O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Also from your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

And besides this they learn to be idle, wandering around from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

Therefore put away all filthiness and abundance of wickedness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity; so is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why did you come down here? and with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride, and the wickedness of your heart; for you are come down that you might see the battle.
