Put away from you a stubborn mouth, and perverse lips put far from you.

If iniquity be in your hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in your tabernacles.

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaks waywardness.

He that has an obstinate heart finds no good: and he that has a perverse tongue falls into mischief.

Better is the poor that walks in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

Let your eyes look ahead, and let your eyelids look straight before you.

A worthless person, a wicked man, walks with a stubborn mouth.

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the wayward mouth, do I hate.

All the words of my mouth are spoken in righteousness; there is nothing crooked or perverse in them.

Put away from you all your transgressions, by which you have transgressed; and make yourself a new heart and a new spirit: for why will you die, O house of Israel?

But now you also are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw yourself.

Therefore put away all filthiness and abundance of wickedness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

If anyone among you seems to be religious, and does not control his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is without benefit.

Therefore laying aside all malice, and all deceit, and hypocrisy, and envy, and all evil speaking,
