He who keeps the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of dissolute men shames his father.
He who wastes the wealth of his father, and chases away his mother, is a son that causes shame, and brings reproach.
He who robs his father or his mother, and says, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.
He who loves wisdom brings joy to his father: but he that keeps company with harlots spends his wealth.
