If I have kept back the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;

If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my helper in the gate:

Neither shall you favor a poor man in his cause.

You shall not bend the judgment of your poor in his cause.

The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do justice.

He that oppresses the poor to increase his riches, and he that gives to the rich, shall surely come to want.

To turn aside the needy from obtaining justice, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!

The people of the land have used oppression, and committed robbery, and have troubled the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.

You shall not cheat your neighbor, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not remain with you all night until the morning.

You shall not therefore oppress one another; but you shall fear your God: for I am the LORD your God.

And do not oppress the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who turn aside the stranger from his right, and do not fear me, says the LORD of hosts.

He shall dwell with you, even among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of your gates, where it pleases him best: you shall not oppress him.
