A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

He who curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.

Do not say, I will repay evil; but wait for the LORD, and he shall save you.

The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro by those who seek death.

Do not labor to be rich: cease from your own wisdom.

A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that makes haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

He that hastens to be rich has an evil eye, and does not consider that poverty shall come upon him.

He that by extortion and unjust gain increases his wealth, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him who increases that which is not his! how long? and to him who loads himself with thick clay!

I will bring it forth, says the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who swears falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.

If you will not hear, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to my name, says the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart.

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
