And Jonadab said to him, Lay down on your bed, and pretend to be sick: and when your father comes to see you, say to him, I pray you, let my sister Tamar come, and give me food, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.
And the young men that were brought up with him spoke to him, saying, Thus shall you answer the people that spoke to you, saying, Your father made our yoke heavy, but make it somewhat lighter for us; thus shall you say to them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s loins.
Therefore do not listen to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, who speak to you, saying, You shall not serve the king of Babylon:
That we from this time on be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried around with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, and cleverness, by which they lie in wait to deceive;
I know your works, and your labor, and your patience, and how you cannot bear those who are evil: and you have tried those who say they are apostles, and are not, and have found them to be liars:
