And Joseph saw his brothers, and he knew them, but did not reveal himself to them, and spoke roughly to them; and he said to them, Where do you come from? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.
For all those things has my hand made, and all those things have been, says the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at my word.
And you have respect for him who wears the beautiful clothing, and say to him, Sit here in a good place; and say to the poor man, Stand there, or sit here under my footrest:
And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves: so she came, and has continued even from the morning until now, except that she stayed a little in the house.
And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in your house shall come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray you, into one of the priests’ offices, that I may eat a piece of bread.
And Nabal answered David’s servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there be many servants nowadays that escape every man from his master.
Now therefore know and consider what you will do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: for he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him.
