You shall be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes.

The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things:

Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak wicked things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

My soul is among lions: and I lie even among those who are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

He that keeps his mouth keeps his life: but he that opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

Where no oxen are, the stall is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

A fool’s lips enter into contention, and his mouth calls for strokes.

A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who deals in proud wrath.

He that sows iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail.

He that is of a proud heart stirs up strife: but he that puts his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke very great things, whose appearance was greater than his fellows.

For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much licentiousness, those who had entirely escaped from those who live in error.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives even to death.

Because you have kept the word of my patience, I also will keep you from the hour of temptation which shall come upon all the world to try those who dwell upon the earth.

Talk no more so exceedingly proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
