And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD: nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burned incense yet in the high places.

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that listens to counsel is wise.

A scorner seeks wisdom, and does not find it: but knowledge is easy to him who understands.

A scorner does not love one who reproves him: neither will he go to the wise.

A wise son makes a glad father: but a foolish man despises his mother.

A fool despises his father’s instruction: but he that regards reproof is prudent.

Listen to me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

If one man sins against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sins against the LORD, who shall appeal for him? Nevertheless they did not listen to the voice of their father, because the LORD intended to slay them.
