And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and weighed down.

Then Paul answered, What are you trying to do, weep and break my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, to the end that you may be established;

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.

And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

And by their prayer for you, who long for you for the exceeding grace of God in you.

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Therefore I desire that you do not faint at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

I thank my God in every remembrance of you,

For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ.

Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labor, and fellow soldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my needs.

For indeed he was sick near to death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, so that I would not have sorrow upon sorrow.

Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand firm in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if it must be, you are in sadness through manifold temptations:
