But murmured in their tents, and did not listen to the voice of the LORD.

Only by pride comes contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.

How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

And when they had received it, they murmured against the head of the household,

For it might have been sold for more than three hundred silver coins, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

And when he came to his disciples, he saw a large multitude around them, and the scribes questioning with them.

But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?

When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of them, should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.

And the contention was so sharp between them, that they separated from one another: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed to Cyprus;

And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said to them, Men and fellow believers, you know how a good while ago God decided among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

If it is possible, as much as it depends on you, live peacefully with all men.

Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not for doubtful controversies.

Now I plead with you, brethren, take note of those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them.

Neither should you murmur, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

For I fear, that, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would like, and that I shall be found by you such as you would not like: lest there be debates, envying, wrath, strife, backbiting, whispering, pride, tumults:

But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you are not consumed by one another.

Let us not desire to glorify ourselves, provoking one another, envying one another.

Let nothing be done through strife or self glorification; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves.

And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

See that none renders evil for evil to anyone; but always follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

Pursue peace with all men, and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord:

For the anger of man does not work the righteousness of God.

But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, do not boast, and do not lie against the truth.

Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned: behold, the judge stands before the door.

Let him turn from evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and pursue it.

Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.

These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaks great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration for the sake of gain.
