For the ear tests words, as the mouth tastes food.

Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from them, and their flesh from their bones;

But he turned, and said to Peter, Get behind me, Satan: you are an offense to me: for you are not concerned with the things that are of God, but those that are of men.

Peter answered and said to him, Though all men shall be offended because of you, yet will I never be offended.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and said of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

And accordingly do I exert myself, to have always a conscience free of offense toward God, and toward men.

And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cling to that which is good.

Now I plead with you, brethren, take note of those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them.

And know his will, and approve of the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;

If then I do that which I do not want to do, I consent to the law that it is good.

For I delight in the law of God in the inward man:

Because the carnal mind is at enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Who shall also confirm you until the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Give no offense, either to the Jews, or to the Gentiles, or to the church of God:

Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no flesh while the world stands, so that I do not cause my brother to stumble.

For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conduct in the world, and more abundantly towards you.

For we are not like many, who corrupt the word of God: but as men of sincerity, but as men from God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.

Giving no offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be blamed:

I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the eagerness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? Then has the offense of the cross ceased.

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, who is the head, even Christ:

Understanding what is acceptable to the Lord.

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

The first preach Christ out of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

Being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Holding out the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, nor labored in vain.

To the end that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

And may the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve the LORD.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

I know your works, and your labor, and your patience, and how you cannot bear those who are evil: and you have tried those who say they are apostles, and are not, and have found them to be liars:
