For because you did it not at the first, the LORD our God left an empty place among us, because we sought him not after the due order.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring up; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he split the rock also, and the waters gushed out.

I knew you in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.

And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took each of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.

Take the rod, and gather the assembly together, you, and Aaron your brother, and speak to the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth its water, and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock: so you shall give the congregation and their beasts drink.

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

And all drank the same spiritual drink: for they drank from that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought you forth water out of the rock of flint;

For the anger of man does not work the righteousness of God.

But God opened a hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water out of it; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name of it En-hakkore, which is in Lehi to this day.

Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD, but did rush upon the spoil, and did evil in the sight of the LORD?

And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and your words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
