And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word.

And Micaiah said, If you return at all in peace, the LORD has not spoken by me. And he said, Listen, O people, every one of you.

And Micaiah said, If you certainly return in peace, then the LORD has not spoken by me. And he said, Listen, all you people.

But now, because it is not so, he has punished in his anger; yet he does not know it in his great distress:

You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of those who hate me;

Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken to you: behold, my Angel shall go before you: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.

For that which befalls the sons of men befalls beasts; even one thing befalls them: as the one dies, so dies the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man has no pre-eminence over a beast: for all is vanity.

And what will you do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from afar? to whom will you flee for help? and where will you leave your treasures?

Shall I not visit them for these things? says the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

The punishment of your iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more take you away into captivity: he will visit your iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will reveal your sins.

And if anyone would hurt them, fire proceeds out of their mouth, and devours their enemies: and if anyone would hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
