Now the LORD had said to Abram, Leave your country, and your kindred, and your father’s house, and go to a land that I will show you:

And now, though you were anxious to be gone, because you greatly missed your father’s house, yet why have you stolen my gods?

Listen, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear; forget also your own people, and your father’s house;

And Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own land.

But what do you think? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work today in my vineyard.

He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

If any man comes to me, and does not hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Therefore from this time on we know no one according to the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet from now on we know him in this way no more.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should later receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing where he went.

And the children of the Kenite, Moses’ father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lies in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.
