My God, think on Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear.
Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name, and I did not send them, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.
If I go out into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold those who are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they do not know.
And it came to pass the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, and in the fifth month, that Hananiah the son of Azur the prophet, who was from Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of the LORD, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; to the extent that, if it were possible, they would deceive even the elect.
If anyone sees his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for those who do not sin unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he should pray for it.
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that worked miracles before him, with which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast, and those who worshiped his image. These both were thrown alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
