Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, and passes by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he does not retain his anger for ever, because he delights in mercy.

If you do well, shall you not be accepted? and if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And unto you shall be his desire, and you shall rule over him.

And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keeps covenant and mercy with your servants that walk before you with all their heart:

For if you turn again to the LORD, your kindred and your children shall find compassion before those who lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if you return unto him.

Hear and grant therefore the supplications of your servant, and of your people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from your dwelling place, even from heaven; and when you hear, forgive.

And refused to obey, neither were mindful of your wonders that you did among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their slavery: but you are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and did not forsake them.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.

But there is forgiveness with you, that you may be feared.

All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like you, who delivers the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that plunders him?

Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, you shall cleanse them away.

Blessed is the man whom you choose, and cause to approach unto you, that he may dwell in your courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, even of your holy temple.

Your righteousness also, O God, is very high, who have done great things: O God, who is like unto you!

But you, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy to all those who call upon you.

For who in the heaven can be compared to the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened to the LORD?

O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like you? or like your faithfulness round about you?

Who is like unto you, O LORD, among the gods? who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

And he said, If now I have found grace in your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray you, go among us; for it is a stiff-necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.

Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.

Behold, instead of peace I had great bitterness: but you have in love for my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for you have put all my sins behind your back.

To whom then will you liken God? or what likeness will you compare to him?

To whom then will you liken me, or shall I be equal? says the Holy One.

I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and will not remember your sins.

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins: return to me; for I have redeemed you.

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return to the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

You are wearied with the length of your way; yet you did not say, There is no hope: you have found life for your hand; therefore you were not grieved.

For I will not contend for ever, neither will I always be angry: for the spirit would fail before me, and the souls which I have made.

For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you: and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.

Be not greatly angry, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we plead with you, we are all your people.

And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, you backsliding Israel, says the LORD; and I will not cause my anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, says the LORD, and I will not have anger for ever.

Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, you have spoken and done evil things as you were able.

Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spoke against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my heart is troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, says the LORD.

And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.

And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

Ebed-melech went forth out of the king’s house, and spoke to the king, saying,

In those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon those whom I spare.

But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who exercises loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth: for in these things I delight, says the LORD.

Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? says the Lord GOD: and not that he should turn back from his ways, and live?

Say to them, As I live, says the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will you die, O house of Israel?

None of his sins that he has committed shall be mentioned to him: he has done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against him;

Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say to him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we return the sacrifices of our lips.

I will be as the dew to Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and put forth his roots as Lebanon.

And it shall come to pass that whoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD has said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pity, and his anger tore perpetually, and he kept his anger for ever:

And the LORD said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A plumb line. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:

And he said, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD to me, The end has come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.

And he prayed to the LORD, and said, I pray you, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before to Tarshish: for I knew that you are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and are sorry for the evil.

I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of you; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together like the sheep of Bozrah, like the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make a loud noise because of the multitude of men.

And I will make her who limped a remnant, and her who was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion from this time forwards, even for ever.

Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she who labors in birth has brought forth: then the remnant of his people shall return to the children of Israel.

Feed your people with your rod, the flock of your heritage, who dwell alone in the forest, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.

The LORD your God in the midst of you is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over you with joy; he will rest in his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

He has not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither has he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.

It was fitting that we should make merry, and be glad: for this your brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

But what does the answer of God say to him? I have kept for myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rides upon the heaven to your help, and in his excellency on the sky.

For he shall have judgment without mercy that has shown no mercy; and mercy rejoices against judgment.

And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
