Therefore whoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will compare him to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock:
And to man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all those who do his commandments: his praise endures for ever.
The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
I have more understanding than all my teachers: for your testimonies are my meditation.
As the whirlwind passes, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a babbling fool shall fall.
The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
For whoever shall do the will of my Father who is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
And I say also to you, That you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them food at the proper time?
And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.
And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it did not fall: for it was founded upon a rock.
And every one who hears these sayings of mine, and does not do them, shall be compared to a foolish man, who built his house on the sand:
But he said, Yea rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.
If you know these things, happy are you if you do them.
If you love me, keep my commandments.
If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.
(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
And by this we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
