Therefore by their fruits you shall know them.
Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by its fruit.
You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
For every tree is known by its own fruit. For from thorns men do not gather figs, nor from a bramble bush do they gather grapes.
And now I say to you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work is of men, it will come to nothing:
Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olives? Or a vine, figs? So can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
