You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by its fruit.

Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olives? Or a vine, figs? So can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
As says the proverb of the ancients, Wickedness proceeds from the wicked: but my hand shall not be upon you.
