Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at his word; Your brethren who hated you, who cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
But when they persecute you in this city, flee into another: for truly I say to you, You shall not have gone through all the cities of Israel, till the Son of man has come.
Then shall the King say to those on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said to them, Let little children come to me, and do not forbid them: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.
Blessed are you, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
Remember the word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
And Saul was consenting to his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.
Blessed is the man who endures temptation: for when he has been tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love him.
Behold, we consider them happy who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the purpose of the Lord; that the Lord is full of compassion, and of tender mercy.
Not like Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And why did he slay him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
Fear none of those things which you shall suffer: behold, the devil shall put some of you into prison, that you may be tried; and you shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give you a crown of life.
