Whose winnowing fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carries away.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.

And the strong shall be as flax, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling bush before the whirlwind.

The oxen likewise and the young donkeys that plow the ground shall eat clean feed, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.

You shall toss them up, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and you shall rejoice in the LORD, and shall glory in the Holy One of Israel.

Therefore as the fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

And they shall go out, and look upon the carcasses of the men who have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring to all flesh.

And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy my people, since they do not return from their ways.

But if you will not listen to me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,

And will send to Babylon fanners, who shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, my anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.

Therefore they shall be like the morning cloud, and like the early dew that passes away, like the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind away from the floor, and like the smoke out of the chimney.

For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, as grain is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.

For, behold, the day is coming that shall burn like an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

The Son of man shall send out his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and those who do iniquity;

And shall throw them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Then shall the righteous shine out like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who has ears to hear, let him hear.

John answered, saying to them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I comes, the strap of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire:

Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.

Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away: and every branch that bears fruit, he purifies it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
