And he said to him, Did not my heart go with you, when the man turned back from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?

Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

For the vile person will speak villainy, and his heart will work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

Son of man, what is that proverb that you have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision fails?

Son of man, behold, those of the house of Israel say, The vision that he sees is for many days to come, and he prophesies of the times that are far off.

Then his lord, after he had called him, said to him, O you wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt, because you pleaded with me:

Truly I say to you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

And shall begin to strike his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

His lord answered and said to him, You wicked and slothful servant, you knew that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I have not scattered:

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

But if that servant says in his heart, My lord is delaying his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

And he said to him, Out of your own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was a severe man, taking up what I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow:

And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him;

But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray to God, if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

Beware that there be not a thought in your wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and your eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him nothing; and he cries unto the LORD against you, and it be sin unto you.

Do not speak in your heart, after the LORD your God has cast them out from before you, saying, For my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD drives them out from before you.
