And when Abram was ninety nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said to him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be perfect.

These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and turned away from evil.

Take note of the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

But Jesus said to him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

And as Jesus passed away from there, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the place of collecting taxes: and he said to him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said to him, One thing you lack: go your way, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the place of collecting taxes, and said to him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

And when he had called the people to him with his disciples also, he said to them, Whoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Sell what you have, and give gifts; provide yourselves bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.

So likewise, whoever he is of you who does not forsake all that he has, he cannot be my disciple.

And I say to you, Make for yourselves friends with the unrighteous riches of this world; so that, when you are no more, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

Now when Jesus heard these things, he said to him, You still lack one thing: sell all that you have, and distribute to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

And after these things he went on, and saw a tax collector, named Levi, sitting at the place of collecting taxes: and he said to him, Follow me.

The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be like his master.

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

If anyone serves me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if anyone serves me, him will my Father honor.

And sold their possessions and goods, and divided them to all men, as every man had need.

For you had compassion on me in my bonds, and accepted joyfully the plundering of your goods, knowing in yourselves that you have in heaven a better and an enduring possession.
