These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brothers; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives: and Joseph brought to his father their evil report.
But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, who owed him a hundred silver coins: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me what you owe.
And when he had looked all around at them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he said to the man, Stretch out your hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole like the other.
So that servant came, and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor, and the maimed, and the lame, and the blind.
Obey those who have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
