Now there cried out a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets to Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is dead; and you know that your servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor has come to take to himself my two sons to be slaves.

Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our kindred, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought into bondage already: neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards.

And I said to them, We according to our ability have redeemed our kindred the Jews, which were sold to the heathen; and will you even sell your kindred? or shall they be sold to us? Then they held their peace, and had nothing to answer.

If you buy a Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.

If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.

Thus says the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother’s divorce, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have you sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.

And if your brother that dwells by you has become poor, and be sold unto you; you shall not compel him to serve as a bondservant:

And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him, who owed him ten thousand talents.

And when they had nothing to pay, he freely forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
