What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety nine, and go into the mountains, and seek that which is gone astray?

And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek your servant; for I do not forget your commandments.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

My people have been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place.

As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

I will seek that which was lost, and bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.

And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.

The diseased have you not strengthened, neither have you healed that which was sick, neither have you bound up that which was broken, neither have you brought back that which was driven away, neither have you sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have you ruled them.

My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.

And he said to them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

And if it happens that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep, than over the ninety nine which did not go astray.

But what do you think? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work today in my vineyard.

Saying, What do you think of Christ? Whose son is he? They said to him, The Son of David.

I speak as to wise men; judge what I say.

For you were like sheep going astray; but have now returned to the Shepherd and Leader of your souls.
