A wicked and adulterous generation seeks for a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah. And he left them, and departed.

And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred twenty years.

But draw near to here, you sons of the sorceress, the offspring of the adulterer and the whore.

And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and said, Why does this generation seek for a sign? Truly I say to you, There shall no sign be given to this generation.

Whoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

And when they were opposed, and blasphemed, he shook his garments, and said to them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: from this time on I will go to the Gentiles.

And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this crooked generation.
