Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field; which when a man has found, he hides, and for joy thereof goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.

Man knows not the price of it; neither is it found in the land of the living.

How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver!

Why is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he has no heart for it?

Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeks and involves himself with all wisdom.

Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Ho, every one who thirsts, come ye to the waters, and he who has no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Another parable put he forth to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field:

Who, when he had found one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net, that was thrown into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

Jesus said to him, If you will be perfect, go and sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Then answered Peter and said to him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed you; what shall we have therefore?

And every one who has forsaken houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

So likewise, whoever he is of you who does not forsake all that he has, he cannot be my disciple.

And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life: he who comes to me shall never hunger; and he who believes in me shall never thirst.

For whatever things were written in former times were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

For you had compassion on me in my bonds, and accepted joyfully the plundering of your goods, knowing in yourselves that you have in heaven a better and an enduring possession.

I counsel you to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness does not appear; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
