But you should say, Why do we persecute him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?

The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he has ceased to be wise, and to do good.

The wicked desires the snare of evil men: but the root of the righteous yields fruit.

A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

O Ephraim, what shall I do to you? O Judah, what shall I do to you? for your goodness is like a morning cloud, and like the early dew it goes away.

But he who received the seed into stony places, the same is he who hears the word, and immediately with joy receives it;

And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

But he who shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved.

Then said Jesus to them, All of you shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered away.

Peter answered and said to him, Though all men shall be offended because of you, yet will I never be offended.

And have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.

Those on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly, I say to you, You seek me, not because you saw the miracles, but because you ate of the loaves, and were filled.

To those who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life:

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision profits anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which works by love.

As many as desire to make a pleasing show in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; but only so that they do not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision profits anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

Being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

This you know, that all those who are in Asia have turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.

For in many things we all offend. If anyone does not offend in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to control the whole body.

Who are kept by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

I know your works, and where you dwell, even where Satan’s throne is: and you hold fast my name, and have not denied my faith, even in those days when Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.
