Now, behold, you trust in the staff of this bruised reed, even in Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all that trust in him.

He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

I will seek that which was lost, and bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.

And when Moses heard that, he was content.

Come unto me, all you who labor and bear heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

And as they departed, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are bruised,

Now thanks be to God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ, and makes known the fragrance of his knowledge by us in every place.

So that on the contrary you ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, so that he will not perhaps be swallowed up with too much sorrow.

And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given to him: and he went out conquering, and to conquer.
