Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.

Yet man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

Return to your rest, O my soul; for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.

For day and night your hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

For my iniquities have gone over my head: as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

That you may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be dug for the wicked.

I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

All things are full of labor; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.

There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he has neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labor; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither says he, For whom do I labor, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a hard toil.

Ah sinful nation, a people burdened with iniquity, a generation of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel to anger, they are gone away backward.

And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand as a banner for the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

To whom he said, This is the rest with which you may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

To appoint for those who mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

For all those things has my hand made, and all those things have been, says the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at my word.

For I have satisfied the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.

Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father which he commanded them; but this people has not listened to me:

Thus says the LORD, Stand in the ways, and look, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest for your souls.

For they bind burdens that are heavy and hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

All that the Father gives me shall come to me; and him who comes to me I will by no means cast out.

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If any man thirsts, let him come to me, and drink.

Now therefore why do you provoke God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

I have shown you all things, how so laboring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Stand firm therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him who hears say, Come. And let him who is thirsty come. And whoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
