Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

And after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain apart,

Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons, worshiping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.

And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and weighed down.

And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishermen.

And going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.

And when they had come out of the synagogue, they entered at once into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,

And the apostles gathered themselves together to Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.

Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:

And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.

And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.

And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, Fear not; from now on you shall catch men.

And the apostles, when they had returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into an uninhabited place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

Philip came and told Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip told Jesus.

Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

Then she ran, and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulcher, and we do not know where they have laid him.

There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two of his other disciples.

Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following; who also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, who is he that will betray you?

This is the disciple who testifies of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.

Then said Jesus to the twelve, Will you also go away?

Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

He spoke of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that would betray him, being one of the twelve.

One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,

And when they came in, they went up into an upper room, where Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James were all staying.

And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell on Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

After that, he was seen by James; then by all the apostles.

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained an equally precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ:

The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all those who have known the truth;

The elder to the well beloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and symbolized it through his angel to his servant John:

I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rejoice over her, heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets; for God has avenged you on her.

And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things.
