Jehoahaz was twenty three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
And he took away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, except the poorest sort of the people of the land.
Now the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitives that deserted to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard take away.
And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the beautiful vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.
And those who had escaped from the sword he took away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:
Which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take, when he took away Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah captive from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;
Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took away captive into Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that deserted to him, with the rest of the people that remained.
And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations.
