And when he came to his disciples, he saw a large multitude around them, and the scribes questioning with them.
And said to him, By what authority do you do these things? and who gave you this authority to do these things?
And when they had come, they said to him, Master, we know that you are true, and care for no man: for you do not regard the person of men, but teach the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
But I say to you, That Elijah has indeed come, and they have done to him whatever they desired, as it is written of him.
And he went into the synagogue, and spoke boldly for three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
For consider him who endured such opposition of sinners against himself, so that you do not become wearied and faint in your minds.
