​My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

Hide not your face far from me; put not your servant away in anger: you have been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

I will say unto God my rock, Why have you forgotten me? why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

Saying, God has forsaken him: pursue and take him; for there is none to deliver him.

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

And some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calls Elijah.

And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, he said, Father, into your hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he breathed his last.

He saw clearly in a vision about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying to him, Cornelius.

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears to him that was able to save him from death, and was heard out of his fear;
