And the disciples came, and said to him, Why do you speak to them in parables?

Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came to him, saying, Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.

And after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain apart,

And when they drew near to Jerusalem, and had come to Bethpage, to the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the world?

And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him, saying, Master, we would like you to do for us whatever we shall desire.

Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly amazed, and to be heavily weighed down;

But without a parable spoke he not to them: and when they were alone, he explained all things to his disciples.

And he permitted no one to follow him, except Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

And after six days Jesus took with him Peter, and James, and John, and led them up into a high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
