Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tested stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not be in haste.

But he said to them, Have you not read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him;

And he answered and said to them, Have you not read, that he who made them at the beginning made them male and female,

And said to him, Do you hear what these are saying? And Jesus said to them, Yes; have you never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings you have perfected praise?

Jesus said to them, Did you never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?

But as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,

And concerning the dead, that they rise: have you not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spoke to him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.

But when you shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him who reads understand,) then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains:

And he said to them, Have you never read what David did, when he was in need, and was hungry, he, and those who were with him?

And Jesus answering them said, Have you not read so much as this, what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him;

As it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense: and whoever believes in him shall not be ashamed.
